frequently asked questions
Why feed Coco’s Pet Kitchen food compare to other types of pet food?
Although the quality of premium kibble has improved, it is still processed food. We believe that feeding your pet a balanced meal consisting of fresh, gently cooked REAL food is a far healthier alternative.
Do I need to consult my vet before switching to Coco’s pet kitchen?
Please do. Every dog is different and if your dog has a special dietary need or pre-existing medical condition it is important that you check with your vet before changing your pet’s diet. We work very hard to provide fresh nutritionally-balanced food. We know that others have their own opinions about dog food, but most vets know that a diet consisting of fresh nutritionally-balanced food is great for dogs. This category of food is certainly not new and is growing quickly in popularity as pet parents consume less processed food in their own diets and many are doing the same for their fur babies.
Luckily, you now have healthy food options and don’t have to feed your fur baby the same bland diet every day. You can decide what works best for you and your lifestyle and provide your companion with food that he or she craves and which will keep your fur baby happy and healthy.
Do I need to add supplements to the meal to have it balanced?
All our meals are prepared with all natural food ingredients, vitamins and minerals, but you can supplement if your fur baby has a special dietary need (e.g. joint support, etc.).
How much does it cost?
Plans start at low at $3.75 per day depending on your pup’s age, weight and activity level. All of our ingredients are premium quality so they may cost a little more. We never compromise quality. You will see the difference.
We will work out a personalized plan based on your dog’s needs. Meals can be used as a topper or as a full meal. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call us @ 365-597-COCO (2626).

STORING & FEEDING
How do I serve Coco’s Pet Kitchen meals?
We suggest that every time you feed your pup, take another container out of the freezer and leave it in the fridge overnight to defrost. In this way you will always have a meal ready to go. We recommend you gently heat our meals in the microwave or on your stove top or serve as is directly from the fridge.
How long can I store the meal in the fridge and freezer?
Coco’s pet kitchen is delivered fresh (not frozen) so it must be refrigerated or put in the freezer. You can keep some containers in the fridge for 4-5 days after delivery and store the rest in the freezer. Follow the same guidelines as you would for your own food.
How do I transition to fresh food?
As this may be your pet’s first introduction to preservative-free, chemical-free food, even though your fur baby may lick the bowl clean, we suggest that you go slow to allow your pet to adjust to natural food. Think of it as a detox. Once transitioned you will see the benefits of real food.
We suggest that you transition by blending the fresh food with your existing food, gradually increasing the proportion of fresh, high-quality food in the meal. It should take about 5 to 10 days to complete the transition from a processed diet to a Coco’s Pet Kitchen fresh, high quality diet depending on your pet’s age and sensitivity. The following table provides a suggested guideline:
